Who is this program designed for?

Preserve your Practice is for all expecting mamas who understand the importance of maintaining and optimizing their yoga practice for this season of their life.  It's especially designed for someone who has leaned on their yoga practice during the twists and turns of life and needs a little support in modifying a home practice or in regular studio classes. 

Preserve Your Practice was created to give you back both your confidence and sanity in this new path you’re on. 

What we'll work on:

I guide you through how to make modifications to your current practice, special exercises to target areas that will enhance your childbirth and postpartum experience, and help ground you to navigate your changing self-identity.

You’ll feel more empowered and connected to your body and be more likely to jump back in the saddle of a practice that makes sense for you based on both you and your baby’s needs.

You'll get immediate access to our On-Demand video library supporting "Preserve Your Practice".  Each Video is organized by trimester and content covered. Your sample practices will also be broken out by trimester and can help inspire your own "home practice", to mix up the classes you take at your current studio or may become you primary practice - taken as often as you like.

Why am I so passionate about this program?

We all have a birth-story but my journey really started when I got married. I found out a few days later I was pregnant and couldn’t have been more excited to embark on this journey. I have a large yoga community and a lot of support but I wasn’t prepared for how much my yoga practice (and life) needed to adapt. My body was changing, my hormones were a roller coaster ride but I was determined to commit to my wellness. After all, yoga has been my safe place for decades and there was no way I was letting that go.

 

Due to COVID-19, my life was quickly turned upside down the last few weeks of my pregnancy. What should have been the most exciting part of my life was now absolutely terrifying as I had to close the doors to both of my yoga studios and prepare to give birth.

I tried to hold it together but in between the excitement and new milestones, I felt lost and alone. I was without the community I so deeply loved and was finding my sense of self-identity falling away from me as I quickly assumed the title of wife, then mom-to-be, then new mom.

 

I know the dire need to support mama-to-be yogis in this time when it’s harder than ever to meet face-to-face with your yoga community or join a new community that specializes in pregnancy and postpartum. Preserve the practice is truly a passionate gift to mama's giving birth in one of the most interesting and vulnerable times in our history!

FAQs

Who is this meant for?

This program is meant for all mama-to-be yogis who want to learn to optimize their yoga practice so it best suits them in this phase of life. 

What if I already have a yoga studio?

Don’t worry, I know how loyal us yogis are to our studios. This program can be used alone but isn’t necessarily a replacement for your current studio. Think of it as a program meant to complement your current studio in give you confidence on the mat. 

How is this program different from others?

This program is not a typical prenatal course or series. It’s really about empowering you to continue your normal practice by offering simple and effective modifications to a normal vinyasa practice. You’ll get some practices but mostly you’ll have quick tutorials that explain common changes we experience during pregnancy and how to “tackle” those with grace.

I’m new to yoga, will this work for me?

This series is designed for experienced yogis but that doesn’t eliminate you at all. While this is not a ‘beginner’ program, if you supplement this with your beginner classes then you are setting yourself up for prenatal yoga success.

Why buy when I follow a lot of Youtubers and IG influencers for free?

There are lots of amazing virtual offerings but I truly believe this one is special.  I built Preserve Your Practice based on 20-years of teaching yoga and my own experience during pregnancy. And while my Instagram following doesn’t make me “influencer-worthy” I have taught thousands of yogis and seen students through injury, heartbreak, and more… quietly in my studios in Atlanta, Georgia. 

I developed this program to bring this quiet, dedicated approach to “community-based yoga” to you no matter where you live. And while there are lots of options online, I know I’m more likely t show up for a teacher I begin to know. Consistency helps with my accountability and the key is to find a program you will actually use.
